Could we see a Herschel Walker statue on Georgia’s campus?
Athens sculptor Stan Mullins is finishing his latest project, a statue of the great Walker, who’s widely considered the best running back in SEC history.
Mullins’ statue of Vince Dooley sits on South Campus, but Mullins’ grandiose idea, the “Crowns of Glory Project,” would place a statue of a running back on each corner of the stadium. He’s already made statues of Frank Sinkwich and Charley Trippi. Now, he’s adding Walker to the mix.
Who’s next? Potentially Nick Chubb, the sculptor says, via the AJC.
“The fourth would be an un-carved block of Carrara marble,” Mullins said. “As in, who’s next? That could be Nick Chubb. Who knows?”
