An Alabama high school football coach was spotted on camera appearing to a volunteer assistant with special needs to the ground after being flagged for sideline interference during a touchdown play.

Dothan High School on Friday hosted Opelika, a 14-7 win for the Wolves. During a go-ahead touchdown run, the Dothan sideline was flagged for sideline interference, presumably due to the celebration by the volunteer assistant.

That’s when Jed Kennedy, in his first season with the program, was shown sprinting to the sideline to the assistant, appearing to slam him to the ground. You can take a look at the video below:

According to Dothan (Ala.) City Schools’ website, Kennedy was previously an assistant coach and defensive coordinator for 3 years at Enterprise High School, about 45 minutes from Dothan. Prior to that, he spent time in Wisconsin, Illinois, and Florida in various head coaching roles. He was also a running backs coach at the college level at Wisconsin-River Falls.

Dothan is currently 6-3 on the season.
