The Magnolia Bowl is one of college football’s celebrated rivalries. Ole Miss coach Lane Kiffin has been part of it since 2020, facing off with LSU’s Brian Kelly since 2022. Last season, the Tigers won an overtime thriller 29-26, led by star quarterback Garrett Nussmeier’s 337 passing yards and 3 touchdowns. The victory made the all-time series 64-42-4 in LSU’s favor.

This season, Nussmeier has the Tigers off to a 4-0 start. LSU already has high-profile wins over Clemson (17-10, Week 1) and Florida (20-10, Week 3). Last week, Kelly’s team had its highest scoring output of the season, a 56-10 thumping of SE Louisiana.

Kiffin’s Rebels are also undefeated. Ole Miss began the season with Austin Simmons as its starting quarterback, but injury has led to Trinidad Chambliss stepping in recently. Chambliss has posted back-to-back 300-yard passing games in Ole Miss’s wins over Arkansas (41-35) and Tulane (45-10).
