Hugh Freeze went ahead and cleared some names of Auburn players who will or won’t be playing in the Music City Bowl at Saturday’s presser.

Freeze started off by announcing that corners D.J. James and Nehemiah Pritchett won’t be playing in the game, per Nathan King of 247Sports. Jaylin Simpson wants to play, but that will come down to his nagging hamstring injury. James, Pritchett, and Simpson will be playing in the Senior Bowl, however.

Auburn could be missing a piece on the defensive line. Marcus Harris isn’t expected to play against Maryland, according to Freeze.

On the offensive side of the ball, there was no mention of tight end Rivaldo Fairweather or offensive lineman Dillon Wade.

Freeze did lose some players to the portal recently as Robby Ashford is leaving Auburn and it was reported that starting wideout Ja’Varrius Johnson is doing the same.

Dec. 30 will the 1st time that the Tigers and Terrapins have met in football since the 1980s.
