Jabari Small and Tennessee didn’t need long to tie things up at South Carolina.

The Gamecocks took an early 7-0 lead with just under 4-and-a-half minutes played in the 1st quarter. Spencer Rattler connected with Jaheim Bell on a 19-yard scoring pass to cap a 9-play, 75-yard drive.

But Josh Heupel’s high-scoring, fast-paced offense leveled the contest just over a minute later. After Hendon Hooker completed a pair of passes to quickly take the Volunteers from their own 29 to their own 40, he took it himself 29 yards to put them at South Carolina’s 31.

That set up Small’s scoring run, his 10th of the season. Take a look below as Hooker and Small got it done on the ground:

South Carolina, though, pulled back ahead on a 60-yard Rattler pass to Josh Vann on the ensuing drive with less than 6-and-a-half to go in the 1st.

Early on, this is setting up to be a barnburner at Williams-Brice Stadium.
