No, this isn’t the plot of a movie. Jacksonville State head coach Rich Rodriguez accused his Week 0 opponent Stephen F. Austin of spying on the team before the teams meet on the gridiron.
Rodriguez said he had ‘pretty good sources’ that the Lumberjacks spied on Jacksonville State’s spring game.
“That’s not really supposed to happen,” Rodriguez said. “But we’re making plans accordingly, they’re over there thinking they have our plays and what have you, our signals or something like that, we’ve changed them since the spring. Then we caught somebody trying to film something the other day.”
Rodriguez went on to say he saw Stephen F. Austin representatives at practice ‘the other day’ and said he sent the biggest guy in the program up the bleachers to snuff him out.
“That guy disappeared pretty quick,” Rodriguez said.
