Jacob Toppin has signed with the New York Knicks. The club announced the signing of the former Kentucky forward on Thursday afternoon via social media. Toppin had previously signed a 2-way deal with the team after not being selected in the 2023 NBA Draft.

Toppin, a Brooklyn native listed at 6-9, 205 pounds, capped his time in Lexington by putting up career numbers. He averaged 12.4 points, 6.8 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game for Kentucky last season. Toppin’s senior season highlights included 23 double-figure scoring outings and 8 double-doubles. He led the Wildcats in scoring four times and had 11 games with at least 3 assists.

A Rhode Island transfer, Toppin played 3 seasons at Kentucky. In his UK career, Toppin averaged 8.3 points, 4.7 rebounds and 1.4 assists over 22.8 minutes in 86 games, making 37 starts.

Earlier this week, Toppin made headlines when his name was not featured on the Knicks’ summer league roster. Toppin is unable to play in Las Vegas due to a minor injury, per the New York Post.
