Former Florida standout receiver Jacquez Green lands high school head coaching position

Many football coaches aspire to one day reach the NFL ranks but it’s often said the greatest impact a coach can make on the game of football, and beyond, happens at the high school level.
Florida legend Jacquez Green will have the opportunity to do just that for 5-time Florida state champion Manatee Football out of Bradenton, Fla., as Green was just named interim coach of the program.
Green replaces Yusuf Shakir as the new leader of the program.
During his three seasons on the field for the Gators, Green caught 113 passes for 2,181 yards and 23 touchdowns in addition to another 165 yards and three touchdowns rushing the ball. Green played for Florida from 1995-1997.
He left Florida for the pros and was selected in the second round of the 1998 NFL Draft by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Green played six seasons in the NFL, registering 162 catches for 2,311 yards and seven touchdowns at the game’s highest level.
