One former Alabama specialist is looking for a new NFL home.

The Jacksonville Jaguars released long-snapper Carson Tinker Friday, the team announced on its website. In fact, Tinker was the Jaguars longest-tenured player in 2018. He played in 69 games for Jacksonville in six seasons.

Through 2013-2016, Tinker handled Jacksonville’s long-snapping duties; however, he suffered a torn ACL and missed the 2017 season. Last year, he suffered another knee injury that caused him to miss the bulk of the season.

Tinker signed a four-year contract extension in 2015 worth $3.65 million.

During his career at Alabama from 2008 to 2012, he won three national championships and two SEC championships. He was considered the nation’s top long-snapper exiting college.

Nick Saban awarded Tinker with a scholarship entering his senior season.

The former Alabama player was selected by his teammates to accept the Disney Spirit Award in 2011 for their collective efforts in helping rebuild Tuscaloosa following the devastating tornadoes. Sadly, Tinker’s girlfriend, Ashley Harrison, died during the tragic tornadoes that claimed 247 lives in Alabama on April 27, 2011.
