Jalen Carter’s blistering pass rush on first NFL snap sparks reaction

Jalen Carter slipped a bit during the pre-draft process this spring after some off-field question marks and disappointing workout performances. Still, some analysts projected the Georgia product as the most NFL-ready prospect available.

Carter is making his NFL debut for the Philadelphia Eagles Saturday evening, and he’s wasted no time looking like a player that was worthy of a higher draft selection. On his very first snap, Carter beat the right guard for the Baltimore Ravens with a quick move to the inside.

Though he did not register a sack, Carter flushed the quarterback and registered a QB hit as the ball was thrown away:

While that’s just one play in the preseason, it has already stirred up a number of fans and media on social media. That includes a group of people questioning why Carter was allowed to slip to pick No. 9 to the Eagles.

Carter has displayed his talent early with a quick flash. Now, he’ll have to stack those plays, but it’s certainly an eye-opening start for the Dawg.
