Jalen Milroe is off to a sensational start to the 2024 season, and while the Heisman Trophy is an honor that’s still way off in the distance, Alabama’s junior quarterback continues to rack up weekly honors as we head into October.

Milroe became the 1st 2-time recipient of the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Player of the Week for his dazzling performance in the Crimson Tide’s classic victory over Georgia last Saturday night in Tuscaloosa. After Alabama let a 30-7 halftime lead slip away late in the 4th quarter, Milroe stood tall, connecting with freshman wideout Ryan Williams on a 75-yard scoring strike with 2:18 left to lift the Crimson Tide to a 41-34 victory.

Milroe accounted for an astounding 491 yards of offense in the instant classic, completing 27 of 33 passes for 374 yards and 2 touchdowns. Yes, he threw his 1st interception of the season (in the 4th game of the season), but he was all over the field, running for 117 yards on 16 carries with 2 more scores on the ground. Milroe now has 2 rushing TDs in each of Alabama’s 1st 4 games, and he helped lift the Crimson Tide into the No. 1 spot in Sunday’s new AP Poll.

Milroe previously earned the Golden Arm weekly honor for Alabama’s road blowout over Wisconsin. For the season, Milroe has completed 62 of 85 passes (73%) for 964 yards and 10 touchdowns. He also has 273 yards rushing with 8 TDs.

In Week 6, Milroe will take aim at Vanderbilt, as the Crimson Tide visit the Commodores on Saturday afternoon in Nashville.
