Jalen Milroe ‘vying’ for QB1 spot in 2025 NFL Draft, per ESPN’s Mel Kiper
Jalen Milroe has everything going for him right now.
He’s the starting quarterback for Alabama, and he’s the starting quarterback for the No. 1 team in the country, with the Crimson Tide rising to the top spot in the new AP Poll on Sunday in the aftermath of their epic victory over Georgia last Saturday night.
Milroe helped author that victory with another virtuoso performance. He’s putting up huge numbers (964 yards passing, 10 touchdown passes, 1 interception and 8 rushing TDs), he’s not making many mistakes, he’s getting plenty of Heisman Trophy buzz and, just maybe, he’s already earning himself millions if the junior decides to enter the 2025 NFL Draft next spring.
ESPN draft guru Mel Kiper Jr. believes in Milroe. Kiper said Tuesday morning on ESPN’s “Get Up” that he believes Milroe is in the mix to be the top quarterback taken in the draft.
“Vying for QB1 in this draft is what he’s doing,” said Kiper when host Mike Greenberg asked Kiper where Milroe is right now when it comes to draft positioning. “Jalen Milroe, you could argue right now, is QB1. … You see these progressions. He’s always been a great deep ball thrower, great deep ball accuracy. … Operations, the details, the pre-snap, he’s getting better at that.
“Jalen Milroe right now is in the mix to be, certainly, QB1, and be a top-10 pick overall and maybe even higher than that by the time we get to late April.”
