Jalen Reed, former 4-star forward and Florida commit, announces new SEC commitment

Jalen Reed had been committed to Florida, but recently backed off that pledge after Mike White moved to Georgia and Todd Golden took over the program.

On Thursday, Reed announced his new commitment, and he’ll stay in the SEC.

As you can see below, Reed took to Twitter to reveal he was committing to Matt McMahon and the LSU Tigers for the 2022-23 season:

That’s obviously an interesting choice, as LSU has an NCAA cloud hanging over it, facing potential sanctions and postseason bans from the Will Wade era.

Per the 247Sports composite rankings, Reed is the No. 13 power forward in the 2022 class and the No. 10 overall recruit from the state of California.
