The Tampa Bay Buccaneers were determine to upgrade their offense this offseason, and drafting former Alabama TE O.J. Howard was a part of that plan.

Bucs QB Jameis Winston couldn’t help but rave about his new teammate when speaking to the NFL Network’s Tiffany Blackmon at his 2nd Annual Dream Forever Football Camp on Saturday.

“O.J., man, he’s just a specimen,” Winston said, per NFL.com. “We’re privileged to have O.J. Howard.”

Winston, a native of the Yellowhammer State, is particularly impressed with Howard’s unique mix of size and athleticism.

“We’re happy to have O.J. What he’s going to do to that team is going to be amazing,” Winston told reporters. “This is the fastest, most athletic 6-6, 255 guy I’ve ever seen in my life. It’s unreal.”

For a first-round draft pick (No. 19 overall), some might say Howard was underused at Alabama. In receptions, Howard was third on the team last season among Crimson Tide pass-catchers with 45 total over UA’s 15 games.

Judging by Winston’s quotes, it sounds like Tampa Bay will try to get Howard more than three catches per game.
