Jared Curtis, the most prized recruit in the 2026 cycle, announced on his social media account on Tuesday night that he is flipping his commitment from Georgia and will instead head to Vanderbilt.

The 5-star phenom is from Nashville, and there has been a ton of noise over the past several weeks about Curtis decommitting from Georgia and staying home instead to play at Vandy. In the end, that’s what Curtis has decided to do, becoming the highest-rated commitment in Vanderbilt football history.

The 6-foot-3, 225-pound quarterback has starred down the road from Vandy at Nashville Christian. He is No. 1 in every category in the 247Sports Composite rankings, as the No. 1 player overall in the Class of 2026, the top-ranked quarterback and the top-rated player from the state of Tennessee.

Curtis wrote this lengthy message on his social media account on Tuesday night in announcing his flip from Georgia to Vanderbilt:

It was a long and emotional Tuesday for Curtis, who had to answer to reports earlier in the day about him flipping from Georgia to Vanderbilt. While that is what ended up happening by day’s end, at the time Curtis said he hadn’t made his decision yet.

When those reports surfaced early Tuesday, Curtis went to social media to say that he “didn’t know where” all the noise was coming from about him flipping his commitment. Curtis also said he hadn’t spoken to either Georgia or Vanderbilt and would keep everybody posted about what he intended to do.

On Tuesday night, everybody finally found out what Curtis’s intentions are for the 2026 season.
