Mathews is a massive addition for Hugh Freeze and Auburn in the class of 2026. He’s regarded as the No. 117 overall player and the No. 13 wide receiver in the country, per 247Sports Composite rankings.

Auburn has struggled on the recruiting trail this season, but getting players like Mathews in the fold will go a long way toward improving Auburn’s standing in the class of 2026.

Auburn is now up to 12 commitments in this class. The Tigers are ranked No. 54 nationally, per 247Sports Composite rankings. Mathews is also now the highest-ranked offensive player to join Auburn’s recruiting class.

Recruits in the class of 2026 will be able to officially sign with their chosen programs during the Early Signing Period in December.
