Jaxson Dart and Jordan Watkins had a day for the ages this past Saturday, inserting their names into the Ole Miss football record book and doing it in style in a 63-31 victory at Arkansas.

The win kept the Rebels firmly in the College Football Playoff discussion as they prepare for a Week 11 showdown at home against Georgia. And the Week 10 performances earned Dart and Watkins some hard-earned honors on Tuesday.

Dart was named the Davey O’Brien National Co-Quarterback of the Week after lighting up the Razorbacks secondary for 515 yards passing and 6 touchdown tosses. Dart has now thrown for an eye-popping 3,210 yards, with still 3 regular-season games to go, and he’s fired 21 TD passes against just 3 interceptions.

Last Saturday, Dart completed 25-of-31 passes and didn’t throw an interception, which made his performance that much greater. He shared the Davey O’Brien weekly award with another SEC quarterback, South Carolina’s LaNorris Sellers, who terrorized Texas A&M with his arm and legs in an upset victory over the Aggies.

Back to Ole Miss and Watkins, who caught a ridiculous 5 of Dart’s 6 touchdown passes in Week 10. The senior wideout caught 8 passes in all for a whopping 254 yards in arguably the greatest performance by a wideout in Ole Miss history. For his efforts, Watkins was named the Walter Camp Offensive Player of the Week.

Dart and Watkins will hope to do something similar this Saturday against the Bulldogs, with their Playoff hopes on the line in Oxford.
