Jeremiyah Love puts Arkansas DB in spin cycle to give Notre Dame 2-score lead
He’s one of the most electric playmakers in college football, and Arkansas defensive back Kani Walker learned why early in Saturday’s game.
Notre Dame took a 14-3 road lead over the Razorbacks following Jeremiyah Love’s second touchdown of the game. The star running back scored on the ground to give Notre Dame its first touchdown of the day on its opening drive. Then, on the Irish’s second possession, Love took a second-and-goal throw from quarterback CJ Carr out in the flat with his back to the field. He planted his foot, spun back the opposite direction, and left Walker in a heap on the deck behind him.
Love trotted into the endzone for his second receiving touchdown of the season.
Love only had 8 receptions in his first 3 games of the season. For such a dynamic athlete in space, Notre Dame hadn’t consistently gone to him through the air over the opening salvo of the 2025 campaign.
Doing so against the Hogs seems to have been a clear emphasis. Love also had a 25-yard reception in the first quarter on Saturday to go with 6 carries for 29 yards and a score.
Love was a trendy pick in the preseason to win the Heisman Trophy, but a slower start to the season has depressed some of his value. Per the latest Heisman Trophy odds, Love could be considered a deep sleeper in Week 5. At BetMGM, Love is +5000 to win the award.
On Saturday against the Razorbacks, Love looked more like the player we thought we’d see in the preseason.
