On Wednesday, Tennessee announced that CB Bryce Thompson had returned to practice.
Thompson had been suspended for allegations of an altercation with his girlfriend, including threats to shoot up the school.
On Wednesday evening, coach Jeremy Pruitt commented on the decision to allow Thompson to return, saying that being around the football team would be good for him:
Jeremy Pruitt on Bryce Thompson: "He obviously made a mistake. But he needs to be around the football team. He's not practiced in three weeks. It's good for him."

Pruitt elaborated a bit, saying Thompson won’t necessarily be playing on Saturday against Chattanooga:
Pruitt says that there are still 'lots of things that have to go on here with his situation' in regards to Bryce Thompson.

Thompson played in 11 games for the Vols last year, recording 32 tackles, 1 sack and 3 interceptions. The situation still sounds fluid for Thompson, so we’ll see what Pruitt says about him in the future.
