Florida is sticking with Luke Del Rio. The Gators pulled redshirt freshman Feleipe Franks last weekend in the comeback win on the road at Kentucky in favor of Del Rio. Obviously, that decision paid off in the 28-27 win.
While the junior did throw an interception on his first series against the Wildcats, he rebounded to complete nine of 14 throws for 74 yards and a touchdown. The score came in the closing moments of the game and proved to be the difference in the outcome of the game.
Paul Finebaum was the first to report the news that Del Rio would be starting next week for the Gators’ home game against Vanderbilt.

Del Rio was the team’s starting quarterback to start last season before getting hurt against North Texas. He threw for 1,358 yards, eight touchdowns and eight interceptions in 2016. Del Rio has had multiple surgeries during his Florida career, which prevented him from staying on the practice field at times in order to compete with Franks during the last offseason.
