Jimbo Fisher praises Kellen Mond’s play in big Week 1 victory

Kellen Mond had a big Week 1 performance for the Texas A&M Aggies, throwing for two touchdowns and running for another before being taken out with the 59-7 victory well in-hand.
Mond won the starting job this offseason over Nick Starkel, and his Week 1 performance didn’t do anything to make coach Jimbo Fisher question his decision.
In fact, during Fisher’s Wednesday night radio show, he had nothing but nice things to say about Mond’s 2018 debut:
Jimbo Fisher on Kellen Mond: "He's playing pretty well… He manages the game. He manages the huddle. He makes big throws and he uses his feet when he has to… He grinds at the game."

Of course, the Aggies face a much tougher test this weekend, when No. 2 Clemson comes to College Station.
Will Mond have another big game? Tune in to ESPN at 7 p.m. Eastern time on Saturday night to find out.
