Jimbo Fisher was not aware about ESPN’s “College GameDay” selections from Saturday, when analyst Desmond Howard picked the Aggies to win the national championship.
Howard on Saturday made his College Football Playoff prediction as Texas A&M, Pittsburgh, Michigan and Baylor, with the Aggies and Wolverines in the national title game.
“I didn’t hear that, that’s great for Desmond. Appreciate the confidence, I didn’t know that happened. I always liked Desmond,” Fisher said. “No, Desmond’s a good guy. That whole crew’s a good group. They do a good job (for) college football.”

Howard’s prediction was eye opening because it was a stark contrast from the conventional picks of some combination of Alabama, Ohio State and Georgia. For example, David Pollack even admitted that he’s not as “ambitious” as Howard, and mentioned his picks as the same “cast of characters” as he picked Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State and Utah. Kirk Herbstreit inserted Alabama, Ohio State, Georgia and Baylor.
