Joe Burrow is in the money for the Cincinnati Bengals.
The Bengals have reportedly locked their franchise quarterback up for the foreseeable future, with Burrow signing a 5-year, $275 million contract extension, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. The deal makes him the NFL’s highest-ever paid player.
Since Burrow’s arrival, the Bengals have become one of the elite teams in the league. After his rookie season was cut short in 2020 due to a knee injury, he led Cincinnati to the Super Bowl in 2021 en route to being named the NFL Comeback Player of the Year.
He threw for 4,475 yards, 35 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions in 2022 as he was named to his 1st Pro Bowl. The Bengals advanced to the AFC Championship Game for the 2nd season in a row, this time losing to the eventual Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs.
Now, with Burrow having reversed the fortunes of the Cincinnati Bengals franchise, he has been rewarded in a big way.
