Football fans everywhere were excited by Joe Burrow’s Christmas Day social media post, an encouraging post-surgery update.
The Cincinnati Bengals quarterback is up and walking just over a month after his season-ending ACL and MCL injuries.

Burrow had to be carted off the field in the Cincinnati-Washington game on Nov. 22. He did not have reconstructive surgery on his knee until Dec. 2. It is encouraging to see him already walking again. The nature of the injuries has some worried that he would not be able to return to action until late into the 2021 season. His rehab certainly looks to be off to a good start.
The former LSU quarterback accompanied the video by tweeting, “Good week for the Bengals.” Cincinnati upset the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday night 27-17. The Bengals improved to 3-10-1 on the year. Cincinnati had lost its previous 3 games without Burrow, falling to the New York Giants, Miami Dolphins and Dallas Cowboys. Burrow had managed a pair of home wins against the Jacksonville Jaguars (33-25, Oct. 4) and Tennessee Titans (31-20, Nov. 1).
Before the injury, Burrow was having a strong rookie season with the Bengals having passed for 2,688 yards, 13 touchdowns and just five interceptions while also rushing for 3 TDs.
