Joe Foucha came up with a clutch one-handed interception for LSU as Ole Miss produced a promising drive near the goal line.
On second down and 9 from the LSU 9, Foucha made the catch after Jaxson Dart was pressured in the pocket. Micah Baskerville supplied the pressure for LSU. Dart targeted Malik Heath on the pass. Heath has already had a big game and the Rebels looked for more. Heath already made 6 catches for 142 yards in the game.
The interception ended a 13-play and 66-yard drive for Ole Miss with 8:25 left in the third quarter.
Foucha was a welcome sight for the Tigers after the Arkansas transfer missed the first 4 games of the season because of academic issues related to transfer credits. The New Orleans native, though, is familiar with what to expect at Tiger Stadium after previous visits to the stadium, and has said the home crowd provides a big-time advantage. He gave the Tiger fans another reason to cheer.
He’s made 5 tackles this season coming into this game.
