Joel Klatt and Danny Kanell were not pleased with the latest College Football Playoff rankings, and they took it out on the committee.

“The (College Football Playoff) Ranking Committee is a failed experiment,” Klatt shared on social media. “… Every indefensible ranking builds distrust in this system…distrust leads to distain which inevitably ends with disinterest…Not good for the sport we all love!”

Kanell, who is a noted SEC critic, went a step beyond that.

“College football needs to eliminate the selection committee in the expanded 12 team playoff,” he wrote. “We can’t keep allowing people who clearly don’t watch all the games play such a critical role in determining college football’s national champion. It’s a complete joke.”

Multiple replies on Twitter suggested that college football return to the BCS formula, and shared the simulated rankings that had USC ranked over LSU.
