No. 22 Auburn will go on the road and face No. 11 Oklahoma this weekend. Jackson Arnold will make his return to his former school, and Oklahoma will look to earn another ranked victory.
Ahead of their matchup, FOX Sports’ Joel Klatt broke down the game on his podcast. Klatt is rolling with the Sooners to pick up the victory this weekend and stay undefeated.
“If you put me in a game in which quarterbacks have to be great, and you got to score on multiple possessions, several possessions, majority of possessions, who do you favor?” Klatt asked. “This is an easy one. Is it Jackson Arnold or Mateer? It’s Mateer. That’s an easy one, so even at the -6.5, I’m going Oklahoma.”
Klatt highlighted that Oklahoma’s familiarity with quarterback Jackson Arnold could be a huge reason for their success this weekend.
“Nobody knows Jackson Arnold better than Brent Venables and that defense,” Klatt said. “They know specifically what he struggles with. What does he not see in the secondary, what are the looks and the blitzes he has trouble with? That’s not a good omen for Auburn in this game.
The Sooners are a 7-point favorite in the matchup, per BetMGM.
Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. ET on Sept. 20.
