Joel Klatt has a new top three after Week 5 of the college football season.

At the top of Klatt’s list was Ohio State, which came out of an idle Week 4 and took down Washington 24-6 in Seattle on Saturday. This one was a 7-3 game at halftime and 14-6 after the third quarter before the Buckeyes scored 10 points in the fourth to put it out of reach. Jeremiah Smith had eight catches for 81 yards and a touchdown.

Oregon came in at No. 2 after its win over Penn State on Saturday night. Despite blowing a 17-3 fourth-quarter lead, the Ducks came out ahead in overtime to improve to 5-0 on the season. Dante Moore was 29-of-39 for 248 yards with three touchdowns while Dakorien Moore pulled in seven catches for 89 yards.

Miami was Klatt’s No. 3 team. The Hurricanes had an open Week 5 after starting 4-0 with wins over Notre Dame, Bethune-Cookman, South Florida, and Florida. That’s thanks in part to Carson Beck, who has thrown for 972 yards and three touchdowns. On the ground, Mark Fletcher and CharMar Brown have combined for 594 yards and nine touchdowns. The Canes travel to Florida State in Week 6.

Klatt’s full top 10 will be revealed on his “Joel Klatt Show” podcast on Monday.
