John Calipari revealed Tuesday night that star freshman guard Cason Wallace injured his knee in shootaround, calling the injury a “contusion.”

Wallace has quietly been Kentucky’s best player this season not named Oscar Tshiebwe. He’s averaging over 11 points per game with around 4 rebounds and 4 assists.

The Wildcats take on Ole Miss Tuesday night at 9 p.m. EST. Because of his injury, Wallace has been reported to be out with Sahvir Wheeler taking his place starting point.

Kentucky basketball has turned things around as of late every since a rough loss to South Carolina. The Wildcats are 4-1 since that point, only losing to No. 8 Kansas in the SEC/Big 12 challenge.

They take on a Ole Miss team that is 1-7 in SEC play Tuesday night.
