Former Georgia standout offensive lineman John Theus was placed on the reserve/retired list by the Tennessee Titans.

Theus was vying for a roster spot during training camp, but he’s apparently decided to pursue a different avenue.

The San Francisco 49ers originally drafted Theus in the fifth-round of the 2016 NFL Draft, and he signed a four-year rookie contract. On September 13, 2017, he was waived by the team. The Carolina Panthers then claimed Theus off waivers but was waived in February of 2018.

Theus started all 14 games as a true freshman for the Georgia Bulldogs. He was named a Freshman All-American and later an AP Honorable Mention All-SEC player later in his career.
