Tennessee football took over pregame duties ahead of Tennessee baseball’s midweek matchup against Wofford Tuesday evening.

A week after Tennessee basketball’s Santiago Vescovi threw out the first pitch, Tennessee football head coach Josh Heupel was given the honors Tuesday. Heupel elected to throw his pitch from the mound, and ended up skipping it in over home plate.

Elijah Simmons joined in on the pregame activities too. Simmons, who is known around Knoxville to have an incredible singing voice, sang the game’s national anthem.

Check it out below. Not many football players are doing this:

Tennessee baseball hopped out to a strong start following the football team’s combined pregame efforts. The Basevols are turning things around after a less-than-ideal start to the season and have won back-to-back series in the SEC over Vanderbilt and Mississippi State.

The Vols have won 7 in a row, looking to make it 8 against the Terriers ahead of a weekend series against Georgia in Athens.
