Ever since Julio Jones said “I’m outta here” on Fox Sports 1, many have wanted to know if the Atlanta Falcons wide receiver knew he was on live TV.
Shannon Sharpe of the FS1 show “Undisputed” called Jones to discuss the trade rumors surrounding Jones. The former Alabama standout told Sharpe he was on his way out of Atlanta. Pat McAfee recently shared that per his source, Jones was not aware he was on live TV when he said “I’m outta here.”
In the clip posted to Twitter, McAfee points out that FOX Sports has not brought any more attention to the call while it is a major story for other outlets.

Sporting News points out there could be legal ramifications if Jones was not aware he was on live TV. The show tapes in California which is a two-party consent state. Violating the California law can result in a fine of $2,500 or up to a year in jail. Sporting News’ post was in response to Pro Football Talk’s Chris Simms stating, “From what I know, from people I know in the NFL, (Jones) had no idea he was on the air yesterday. I found that out from somebody in the know here. Yes, he and his agent were very disappointed after.”
The major parties involved – Jones, FOX, the Falcons and the NFL – have not issued public comments on whether the wide receiver knew he was on live TV.
