When Alabama was making a dramatic overtime comeback to beat Georgia in the National Championship Game, Atlanta Falcons WR and former Alabama star Julio Jones was fast asleep.

However, Jones caught the stunning ending the next morning, and discussed his sleeping habits on Tuesday while opening a Kia dealership in Tuscaloosa.

During the interview, he couldn’t help but throw a bit of shade at the Bulldogs, saying he needed some sleep so he didn’t play like a Georgia player the next day (via AL.com):

“It’s kind of hard to stay up and watch,” he said. “I’ve got to get my proper sleep to go out and perform the way I need to perform. I want to go out and perform for you guys. I can’t go out there and put bad stuff [on film]. I am from Alabama. I can’t go out there and put out some Georgia.”

Basically, Jones was saying he needed his sleep so he could perform like the Alabama product he is, instead of a Georgia player.

Well done, Julio, though you may have angered some Falcons fans with that wisecrack.
