Juwan Howard was involved in a sideline altercation in which he threw an open-handed punch at a Wisconsin assistant on Sunday.
While many fans have called for Howard to be fired, the punishment he faces will reportedly be lesser by nature.
Per Dan Wetzel of Yahoo Sports, Howard has been suspended by Michigan for the rest of the regular season — a total of 5 games:
Michigan will suspend men’s basketball coach Juwan Howard for the rest of the regular season, a source tells Yahoo Sports.

As Darren Rovell notes, though, any potential salary forfeiture would be less than people think, due to the way Howard’s contract is structured:
Even if Juwan Howard’s five-game suspension was without pay, it would only be on $400,000 salary.
He makes an additional $2.85 million this year from Nike/Jordan brand and media deals.

Can the Wolverines make a push for the NCAA Tournament? Their next 5 games to close out the regular season are vs. Rutgers, vs. No. 15 Illinois, vs. Michigan State, vs. No. 25 Iowa and at No. 22 Ohio State. Brutal. This could be an NIT year for Michigan.
