Kadyn Proctor has teammates at Alabama who have his back.

Proctor flipped from Iowa to the Crimson Tide this offseason. He was a former 5-star commit in the 2023 class from Des Moines, Iowa.

It’s no secret that Proctor struggled at time this season. However, Tyler Booker explained that the experience will benefit Proctor in the long run. One thing that immediately stood out was the maturity of Proctor.

“When Kadyn came in he was very mature, he was very smart. It’s hard to make up for that strength of opponent and speed of the game,” Booker said on the latest edition of The Next Round. “Week-by-week he’s just getting on the job experience.”

Booker doesn’t think that Proctor deserved all the hate this season. Booker noted that it’s not easy transitioning from high school to college at Alabama, where everyone has their eyes on you.

“Everybody talks badly about Kadyn. Kadyn came from Iowa, maybe playing in front of 1,000 people,” said Booker. “Now you’re on the big stage in front of 100,000 people. Everybody knows your name, everybody’s coming after you. You do something great, you’re the best in the world. You do something bad, you’re the worst. That’s a lot of pressure to have as an 18-year old man.”

Alabama gears up for the College Football Playoff semifinal with Michigan next on New Year’s Day.
