Kalen DeBoer and the Alabama Crimson Tide won their fifth straight game on the season with the 27-24 victory against Missouri on Saturday. Since losing to Florida State in Week 1, the Crimson Tide have been playing some great football, against some very good teams.

The win against Missouri was the third straight win against a ranked SEC team for DeBoer, achieving a feat that Nick Saban only accomplished once as the coach in Tuscaloosa.

The streak began with a win at at Georgia a couple of weeks ago and then continued last week in Tuscaloosa against a top-25 Vanderbilt team.

Alabama has responded to its season-opening loss vs. Florida State by looking like a team that is a legitimate contender to win the College Football Playoff. Quarterback Ty Simpson continued his run for the Heisman Trophy on Saturday, as he threw for 200 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Winning three straight games in the SEC is a challenge within itself, but to do it against three consecutive ranked teams is truly an impressive feat. The Crimson Tide can add another win to that streak in Week 8, as they host the Tennessee Volunteers in what’s expected to be a top-25 matchup.
