Kalen DeBoer expecting ‘big things’ from Ty Simpson in Alabama debut
Kalen DeBoer and Alabama are facing expectations this season after missing out on the College Football Playoff a year ago.
But guess who else has a lot riding on this season? That would be new Tide starting quarterback Ty Simpson, who won the QB battle in fall camp and will be replacing a pretty good signal-caller in Jalen Milroe, who is now in the NFL. So, both the head coach and quarterback have a lot at stake this fall, and that all begins on Saturday in Tallahassee.
If Simpson succeeds, then DeBoer likely succeeds, and the head coach thinks the new starting quarterback will do just that in 2025.
“I’m expecting big things out of him. I really am. I’m expecting him to go out there and — it’s not any added pressure we put on him — but just do his thing. Be him. It will all fall into place,” said the confident Kalen DeBoer as he and Simpson got set to hopefully create better things than what happened last fall.
Those big things that DeBoer forecasted from Simpson are yet to be achieved, and all eyes will be on the latest Alabama starting quarterback to see if he measures up to the Crimson Tide standard.
DeBoer is showing little doubt that Simpson will be up to the task, starting on Saturday in a hostile environment.
