Maryland and Kansas are the first two Power 5 schools to fire its coaches this season.
The Terrapins fired D.J. Durkin earlier this week as the ongoing leadership issues at the university continue, while the Jayhawks reportedly are firing David Beaty after their loss to Iowa State on Saturday.
One name that is showing up in coaching rumors for both schools is former LSU coach Les Miles.
Miles hasn’t coached since he was fired by the Tigers in 2016. He coached at LSU from 2005-16, and prior to that, he led Oklahoma State from 2001-04.
With coaching rumors beginning to swirl, Kansas and Maryland fans have reacted on Twitter with their thoughts regarding Miles. Here’s some of what they are saying:
I'd love to see Les Miles take over the #Jayhawks football program but will he wait for an SEC opening to stick it to #LSU before giving Long his answer? With no recruits in the fold, KU has to be decisive.
