Kavosiey Smoke on Kentucky not being ranked: ‘We’re gonna make them respect us later’

Despite a win over Mizzou on Saturday, when the AP Poll came out on Sunday, the Kentucky Wildcats weren’t in the top 25.
The Wildcats are 2-0 and host Chattanooga this weekend. Then, they travel to South Carolina in Week 4 before hosting Florida in Week 5.
Win those games, and the team will almost certainly be in the top 15, not just the top 25. But, for now, RB Kavosiey Smoke said the team isn’t sweating the omission. He said they’ll earn the respect later:
Kentucky RB Kavosiey Smoke when asked today if not being ranked bothers the players like it does the fans, says no. “It’s politics… if they don’t want to give us our respect now, we’re gonna make them respect us later.”

Kentucky looked like the better team on Saturday against Mizzou, but the Tigers kept things close, with the Wildcats holding on for a 35-28 win.
We’ll see if the Wildcats can climb into the top 25 before that big showdown against Florida.
