KeAndre Lambert-Smith made the play of the day (so far) for Auburn midway through the 3rd quarter on Saturday.

Facing a 4th and 2 from their own 33-yard line, Auburn quarterback Payton Thorne found Lambert-Smith over the middle of the field. But Lambert-Smith picked up a lot more than the 3 yards that were necessary to keep the drive alive.

Lambert-Smith caught a slant and then went untouched all the way to the end zone. Arkansas’ defensive back on the play appeared to overplay the ball, looking for a pass break-up, and instead gave up the easy score.

Here’s a replay:

That score made it 17-14 midway through the 4th quarter, giving Auburn a chance to get back in the game.

This was the second touchdown of the day for Lambert-Smith, who has emerged as Auburn’s top wide receiver in 2024. He transferred in from Penn State this past offseason and has made an immediate impact on the Plains.

Auburn has struggled offensively in this game. Hank Brown was benched after a rough first half that saw him throw 3 interceptions. Thorne has also thrown a pick since he entered the game in the 3rd quarter, but he has been a bit more efficient in his return to the field.
