Kentucky has some early July momentum on the recruiting trail. The Wildcats have now landed blue-chip commitments on back-to-back days.

Kalen Edwards is the newest UK commit. The defensive lineman took to social media Wednesday to share his verbal pledge to play for Mark Stoops’ program.

“First off, I want to thank the man above, without Him none of this would be possible,” Edwards wrote in a note posted on his X account. “I want to thank my mother for being in my corner throughout the ups and downs. I want to thank all my coaches and family and friends and people who was there up until this point of my life. And with that being said, for the next 3 to 4 years, I will be taking my talents to the University of Kentucky.”

Out of Dyersburg (Tennessee) High School, Edwards’ listed measurements are 6-4, 315 pounds. On the 247Sports Composite, Edwards is rated the No. 10 recruit in the state of Tennessee, No. 38 defensive lineman and No. 342 prospect overall in the Class of 2025.

Ahead of his Wednesday commitment to the Cats, Edwards was also considering Auburn, Ole Miss and Louisville. Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Miami, Mississippi State, Missouri and Tennessee are among the programs that also showed interest in Edwards.

With Edwards on board, Kentucky now has 16 verbal pledges in its 2025 recruiting class, which ranks No. 18 nationally on the Composite. Fans can get a preview of what Edwards will bring to Lexington next year by checking out his junior season highlights in the video below:
