No matter how you look at it, Kentucky picked up a big commitment late Sunday night when Cleveland native Darian Kinnard announced his plans to attend school in Lexington. Kinnard becomes the first offensive lineman to commit to UK’s 2018 recruiting class and is also the team’s second-highest rated prospect to pledge his commitment to the school this recruiting cycle.

Here’s Kinnard’s official announcement, which he released via Twitter Sunday evening:

The 6-foot-7, 336-pound Kinnard chose Kentucky offer scholarship offers from Mizzou, Penn State, Maryland, Minnesota, and UCLA among others. According to 247Sports, Kinnard rates as a four-star prospect, the No. 17 offensive tackle prospect and the nation’s No. 161 overall prospect. Should he continue to develop and fill out his massive frame, Kinnard could prove to be one of the gems of Kentucky’s latest recruiting class.

Check out his junior season highlight reel, where he mimics a wall for opposing defenders time and time again.

With Kinnard’s commitment, Kentucky now has seven total commitments currently pledged to the 2018 recruiting class.
