McGowan was excited after scoring a touchdown and threw the ball. It hit Sellers’ grandfather in the shoulder.

Before learning the fan in the stands was Sellers’ grandfather, McGowan had already taken to social media apologizing and asking for a way to contact the fan directly. He said the ball missed its target and he was not trying to throw it into the stands.
If anyone can get me in contact with the fan or his family I would like to formally apologize to them and make it up any way possible. Also I would like to apologize to the entire fans of South Carolina Football and their program.

Sellers revealed to Cole Cubelic that his grandfather was the fan who got hit and he planned to give him a game ball.

The good news is that Sellers’ grandfather did not have to leave the game. After being tended to, he was able to stay and watch his grandson lead South Carolina to a 35-13 win over Kentucky.
Update: Carolina fan’s shoulder is wrapped up after being pegged by a football thrown directly into the stands by a Kentucky player.
