Kentucky transfer QB Cutter Boley reportedly commits to Big 12 program
Kentucky Wildcats fans thought they had their quarterback of the future when they watched Cutter Boley play in 2025. But in this day and age, nothing is guaranteed. And now, Boley is reportedly headed to the Copper State.
According to John Brice of FootballScoop.com, Boley will be transferring to Arizona State. This comes after he threw for 2,160 yards, 15 touchdowns and 12 interceptions in 11 games for Kentucky.
Boley, a rising redshirt sophomore from the Wildcats’ locale (Lexington, KY), was the No. 24 quarterback in the 2024 recruiting class, according to 247Sports’ Composite rankings. At Arizona State, he’ll replace Sam Leavitt — who reportedly has visited Kentucky on his own transfer portal journey — and try to help Kenny Dillingham’s Sun Devils return to the College Football Playoff.
Back in 2024, Arizona State surprised everyone by winning the Big 12 Championship and earning a first-round CFP bye. The Sun Devils faced former conference rival Texas in the Peach Bowl, and fought valiantly in the contest, but eventually fell to the Longhorns 39-31 in double overtime. This year, Leavitt dealt with injuries and only played in 7 games. In the process, his relationship with the school seemingly soured enough to lead to his transfer.
Boley and the Sun Devils kick off the 2026 season versus Morgan State on Sept. 5.
