Kentucky appears to be capping off its 2020 season in the Sunshine State.
College football insider Brett McMurphy of Stadium reports, per sources, that Kentucky will face NC State in the Gator Bowl. The game takes place on Jan. 2, 2021, at TIAA Bank Field in Jacksonville, Florida. The ACC-SEC clash from the home of the Jacksonville Jaguars is set for noon ET on ESPN.
Kentucky went 4-6 in regular-season play but finished on a high note with a 41-18 win at home over South Carolina. NC State is 8-3 coming off of a win over Georgia Tech in the regular-season finale.
Kentucky and NC State last met in 1970. The Wildcats won 27-2 in Lexington. The Wolfpack won 15-6 in a 1909 game played in Raleigh.
This is Kentucky’s fifth-consecutive bowl berth under Mark Stoops, tying a UK school record. Kentucky has a two-game bowl winning streak going with victories in the Citrus Bowl and Belk Bowl over Penn State and Virginia Tech.
