The Kentucky Wildcats just finished off a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad season.
Now, their talented freshman class has decisions to make. Point guard Devin Askew will return to school. Others haven’t made up their minds yet.
But, on Tuesday, big man Isaiah Jackson’s dad revealed that his son would at least go through the 2021 NBA Draft process (via 247Sports):
“We’re going through the process and the process starts with putting your name in the draft,” Jackson said. “We’re at the beginning. You can’t get this wrong. You have to get as much information as you can, process it, and pray on it. I want him to go through all the steps. We’re at the beginning. He hasn’t made his mind up go or stay and we haven’t hired an agent. We came into this thinking 2-3 years not knowing he would flourish so when people are talking lottery pick, you have to consider it.”
This doesn’t mean Jackson is leaving officially, but if he gets the right draft grade, he’ll likely turn pro. And, based on the way he played down the stretch, he could be a lottery pick.
Jackson played in 25 games, starting 18 of them. He averaged 8.4 points, 6.6 rebounds and 2.6 blocks per contest.
