Keyontae Johnson will reportedly take his talents to Kansas State. Jeff Goodman of Stadium is reporting that Johnson has selected KSU as his transfer destination.

Johnson entered the transfer portal this offseason. He narrowed his options down to a final 4 of KSU, Memphis, Nebraska and Western Kentucky.

Johnson, the 2020-21 preseason SEC Player of the Year, last played for Florida on Dec. 12, 2020, when he collapsed on the court at Florida State. Johnson was hospitalized for 8 days and placed in a medically-induced coma.

Johnson was never medically cleared by UF to play again, but remained close to the Gator team, taking on an unofficial student assistant role, earning him the nickname “Coach Key.” In March, Kentucky and Florida arranged to allow Johnson on the court in the starting lineup for UF’s Senior Day. Johnson received a ceremonial opening tip, dribbled and then kissed the court before exiting the game, his final time suiting up for Florida.
