Targeting has been one of the hot topics during the first couple of weeks of the 2021 season. The Ole Miss-Louisville Labor Day game had so many targeting penalties that Lane Kiffin called out the Big Ten officiating crew from his home.

College football observers see all kinds of targeting calls, but they usually don’t involve the kicker.  USC sophomore placekicker Parker Lewis got called for targeting in the Trojans’ Saturday game against Stanford. The call was upheld and Lewis was ejected.

Lewis was in disbelief.

USC currently trails Stanford 7-0 in the first quarter. The game is on FOX if you’re into Pac-12 After Dark.
