Georgia is taking a proactive measure to combat college football’s falling attendance: it’s scheduling premier home-and-home series.
On Tuesday, Georgia announced it had scheduled FSU to a home-and-home series in 2027 (at FSU) and 2028 (at Georgia). UGA also announced it will face Clemson a second time in 2032 (at Georgia) and 2033 (at Clemson). The two already had a series scheduled for 2029 and 2030.
Kirby Smart held his press conference Tuesday evening to discuss spring practice, and he was asked about playing the ACC powers in the future.
Kirby Smart on upgraded schedule: “If I’m going to recruit the best players, we we’re going to need to play the best teams.” UGA announced a home and home with FSU and a second series with Clemson.

More from Kirby Smart on playing FSU and Clemson: “They (players) come to college to play big games. They don’t come to college, I would never name anybody, but they don’t want to play the little sisters of the poor.”

Smart is right, and playing more primo programs will hopefully put more people in the seats, too. We’ll just have to wait eight-plus years for any of the games to actually happen.
