Kirby Smart has been looking to be cautious with Juan Gaston and Earnest Greenem as the Georgia offensive linemen have been navigating injuries in the early part of the season.
Gaston, who has been dealing with an ankle injury, started Week 3’s game against Tennessee but was hindered throughout the afternoon. Meanwhile, Greene has been battling a back injury.
With another key game coming up against Alabama in Week 5 — the Crimson Tide’s first visit to Athens since 2015 — both players will be working to get themselves back to full fitness.
“(They’re) just working hard. That’s all they can do is put their head down and grind and get better,” Kirby Smart said, according to 247Sports’ Jordan Hill. “We’ll continue to do that with all those guys.”
Greene, a preseason All-SEC third team selection, is one of the Bulldogs’ key veterans up front. He started 23 times and appeared in 25 games in 2023 and 2024 seasons combined.
Meanwhile, Gaston was considered one of the country’s most prized recruits in the 2025 cycle when he signed with Georgia. He ended up just outside the top 50 in 247Sports’ composite rankings but was rated as a top 10 offensive lineman nationally.
